WHAT IS M-SAND

Sand is the key ingredient in the construction industry, and traditionally river sand has been extensively used until now. However, due to the ever-growing demand, this natural reserve is fast depleting and Manufactured Sand aka M-sand is the only ideal substitute for river sand.

M-sand is nothing but artificial sand manufactured by crushing hard basalt and rock stones to the desired size. Using M-sand not only helps preserve natural riverbanks and shorelines from where sand is generally extracted and lessen energy consumption, but also facilitates ethical and legal construction activities.

The crushed sand is cubical with grounded edges, washed and graded as a construction material. To derive the required sizes, these hard rock deposits are crushed, and this material is segregated in different fractions to suit different construction sites. While the chemical characteristics and strength of M-sand are similar to that of river sand, M-sand differs from natural river sand in its physical and mineralogical properties.

While the global demand for sand is increasing tremendously, natural resources are exhausting, and stringent environmental regulations are being put in place to protect sources of natural sand. In many regions, obtaining sand from the riverbanks and shorelines has been banned completely. M-sand is the answer to this growing business demand and environmental needs. Manufactured Sand was born out of a strong need for alternative resources, which doesn’t compromise in quality and standard and at the same time is eco-friendly.
